Ceramic

What is a Ceramic?

Ceramic is a treatment method that covers the entire artificial tooth by shaving the tooth into a columnar shape. All ceramic is structurally stronger than laminate, has stronger chewing power, and can be applied to teeth that are severely discolored or protruded more widely than laminate. It is an esthetic treatment.
All-ceramic is a procedure where you can expect the strength of the laminate and excellent esthetics at the same time.

Laminate

Amount of tooth removal for all ceramic crowns and laminate

In the case of laminates, the range of teeth preparation is small, and dramatic treatment results can be obtained. In the case of all-ceramic, teeth are severely damaged and the entire tooth needs to be covered. Although the amount of tooth removal is higher than that of laminate, it can be restored with neatly designed teeth.

All-ceramic must be proceeded after properly completing the neurological treatment. Since the prosthesis is thicker than the laminate, a larger amount of teeth must be removed, and nerve treatment is required as sensitive nerves may be exposed. Neurotherapy prevents and treats aching teeth by removing nerves that may be sensitively exposed. If you experience aching teeth after all-ceramic, it is most likely that you have not properly treated your nerves.
  • Advantages

    • Can be produced with desired tooth shape, shape, color, and design
    • The duration of the procedure is as short as 1-2 weeks
    • The light transmission is similar to that of natural teeth, so it is very natural

  • Disadvantages

    • Due to the large amount of tooth removal, consultation with a specialist is required for treatment
    • The price is a little expensive compared to the laminate
    • Needs to be managed after the procedure
